Melchior was homeless, and was hit by a car which broke his bones in four places. After a life-saving operation given at a discount by vet clinic Dyreklinikken Tertnes and funded by animal rescue donations collected by Dyrebeskyttelsen Norge avd. Bergen og Hordaland, he soon became fit and curious again.
